Title: Addressing the gender pay gap : Government and social partner actions
Abstract
Wage differentials between men and women across Europe are a major policy concern for the European Commission and the social partners. This report provides an overview of national studies on the gender pay gap, and examines the policies and actions of governments and social actors to combat pay discrimination. The report first reviews quantitative and qualitative studies on the unadjusted and adjusted pay gap and examines the many factors cited to explain the wage differentials. Then it explores specific actions carried out by governments to reduce the gender pay gap, such as legislative measures, general recommendations, monitoring procedures and suppport for low-paid occupations. It also looks at joint initiatives and collective bargaining undertaken by the social partners, as well as highlighting successful good practice examples. Title: Visions for Gender Equality
Abstract
As the European Commission’s current work programme for gender equality - out-lined in its Strategy for equality between men and women 2010-2015 - draws to a close and the EU considers the way forward for gender equality policies, this publication offers a range of perspectives on what has been achieved to date, the challenges that lie ahead, and possible priorities for policy action to stimulate change and accelerate progress in key areas. It is designed to feed into the development of a new strategic and comprehensive vision to guide action at EU level post-2015, as the new EU leadership which took office in 2014 looks to the future and seeks to identify priorities for action at European level in the wake of the worst economic crisis for generations. Title: The Implementation of Parental Leave Directive 2010/18 in 33 European Countries
Abstract
The purpose of this report is to provide information on and present an analysis of the implementation of Parental Leave Directive 2010/18 as well as possible weaknesses and lacunae in the existing acquis. The focus of this report will be on the way the various types of family leave and other measures intended to promote the reconciliation of professional and family life are addressed and combined at national level and the extent to which the national approach is in line with EU law. The topic of leaves aimed at facilitating the reconciliation of work, private and family life has been addressed in several reports of the European Commission’s European Network of Legal Experts in the Field of Gender Equality (hereafter: Gender Network). In this report, the main focus is on the implementation of the changes made by Parental Leave Directive 2010/18 to the previous Directive on the subject (Directive 96/34/EC2), at national level. Title: Overview of Diversity Management implementation and impact amongst Diversity Charter signatories in the European Union
(2014)
Abstract
From 2004 to date, 13 national Diversity Charters have been established across Europe aiming at encouraging companies to implement and develop diversity policies. The charter is a short document voluntarily signed by companies which outlines the commitment of the undersigning organization to promote diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace, regardless of, for example, age, disability, gender, race or ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation. In 2010, the Diversity Charters from across the European Union came together to work as the EU-level ex-change Diversity Charter Platform. This development was funded by the European Commission under the project ‘Support for voluntary initiatives promoting diversity management at the workplace across the EU’. The EU-level exchange platform allows the promoters of the existing diversity charters to meet on a regular basis, to share their experiences and develop common tools. Among the greatest achievements is the key fact that over 7,100 companies, including enterprises, public bodies, NGOs and covering over 13.6 million employees, have signed the 13 charters. ...This report is a summary of eleven national surveys, which were conducted between May and September 2014 across the EU. In all, 1826 organizations replied to the survey. This expresses high a response rate of 26%. In principle, the survey consisted of 11 main-questions and 2 sub-questions. Some of the charters had slightly modified the questions. Whenever relevant for the results, it is explicitly pointed out in the report or in a footnote. The report focuses on the total EU-results and is not meant to provide comparisons between individual countries, as each one has different starting points and national contexts which would make this comparison possible only after an extensive process of questioning and evaluation which falls outside the scope of this survey. Title: A comparative analysis of gender equality law in Europe 2015 : A comparative analysis of the implementation of EU gender
equality law in the EU Member States, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro,
Norway, Serbia and Turkey
Abstract
This report provides a general overview of the ways in which EU gender equality law has been implemented in the domestic laws of the 28 Member States of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (the EEA countries) and four candidate countries (the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey). The analysis is based on the country reports written by the gender equality law experts of the European equality law network (EELN). At the same time, this report explains the most important elements of the EU gender equality acquis.. The term ‘EU gender equality acquis’ refers to all the relevant EU Treaty and EU Charter of Fundamental Rights provisions, legislation and the case law of the CJEU in relation to gender equality.[Author vide copyright]

Abstract
Copyright]
