Title: Migration Trends in Selected Applicant Countries
Title (other): Volume I Bulgaria ; The social impact of seasonal migration
Abstract
The report follows the main guidelines of the comparative research outline designed by IOM-Vienna: brief introduction to the problem from the point of view of introducing historical background, the statistical development over the past five years (1997 to 2001), the legal and administrative provisions with regard to migration and migration management, trying to find answers to the main question of the study: How does migration affect the local society in Bulgaria at this point of time? The report analyses both out-migration and in-migration trends, but in the Bulgarian case what seems clear is that out-migration exceeds in-migration, thus emigration rather than immigration has bigger impact on the Bulgarian society. The public discourse is dominated by concerns about brain-drain, the economic benefits from Bulgarian migrants working abroad temporarily, the possibilities for exporting skilled labour legally, and the harm inflicted The report is based on secondary analysis of relevant literature (Appendix 1); normative documents, regulating migration; statistical and border police data about migration (Appendix 2); sociological surveys on potential migration and on the economic impact of migration; interviews with representatives of state institutions and NGOs dealing with migration, as well as with immigrants and emigrants (Appendix 3). by returned asylum-seekers on Bulgaria's image. Immigrants are not particularly visible yet, and concerns about their number, protection of their rights, xenophobia or their integration come rarely to the fore. That is why, in searching for the social impact of migration on the Bulgarian society, the Bulgarian team will pay more attention to out-migration than to in-migration. [Urheber s. Copyright]

Title: Structures of Education, Vocational Training and Adult Education Systems in Europe : Bulgaria ; 2003
Abstract
Structures of education, vocational training and adult education systems in Europe For anyone trying to understand the general organisation of education systems in Europe, these monographs set out in some 40 pages for each country, full basic and regularly updated information on its own particular system. Devised in accordance with a common framework, they provide conveniently for inter-country comparison. The monographs describe the various levels of education from pre-primary to higher education, and initial vocational training whether provided exclusively in a school or other educational institution, or in the form of alternated work and training. Each level of education has its own concise description concerned primarily with its admissions procedures, duration, curriculum, methods of assessment and teacher training. These monographs have been produced by EURYDICE in close collaboration with the members of the CEDEFOP REFER Network and the national observatories of the European Training Foundation. [Urheber s. Title: Capacity building for social dialogue in Bulgaria
Abstract
This paper analyses the capacity of Bulgaria?s social partners to effectively engage in social dialogue at various levels. The paper forms part of a wider, comparative project, managed by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Ireland) and the Work Life Development Programme (Sweden). It is aimed at helping social partners in the 10 new EU Member States and the three acceding and candidate countries (Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey) to build their capacity for social dialogue with a view to anticipating and managing change. The report concentrates on studying the organisational, financial, and personnel capacities of the national, central organisations of employers and trade unions for anticipating and managing change, anticipating future developments and implementing outputs.[Author vide Copyright]

Title: Comparative analyses on national measures to combat discrimination outside employment and occupation: Mapping study on
existing national legislative measures and their impact in tackling discrimination outside the field of employment and
occupation on the grounds of sex, religion or belief, disability, age and sexual orientation, VT/2005/062
Abstract
The purpose of this report is to set out in brief form the law across the EU Member States, Bulgaria and Romania relating to discrimination on grounds of sex, sexual orientation, disability, religion and belief and age (the 'relevant grounds'), to the extent that such discrimination falls outside the current scope of EC law. The report is drawn up on the basis of detailed reports in respect of each of the countries surveyed, and a further five ('comparator') countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States of America. Much of the report focuses on the law of the existing and prospective EU Member states but occasional reference is made to the comparator countries. [Author vide copyright]

Title: Perceptions of globalisation: attitudes and responses in the EU
Abstract
This report explores the employment impact of globalisation and reviews the attitudes and responses of national governments and the European social partners to this phenomenon. It first looks at the attitudes of the different stakeholders in the 27 Member States of the EU, including Bulgaria and Romania which joined the EU on 1 January 2007, as well as Norway. It then examines the responses of governments, employers and trade unions in these countries to the process of globalisation. Finally, the report gives a brief overview of national surveys of public opinion on globalisation which have been carried out in recent years. [Author vide Copyright]
