Title: Migration Trends in Selected Applicant Countries
Title (other): Volume I Bulgaria ; The social impact of seasonal migration
Abstract
The report follows the main guidelines of the comparative research outline designed by IOM-Vienna: brief introduction to the problem from the point of view of introducing historical background, the statistical development over the past five years (1997 to 2001), the legal and administrative provisions with regard to migration and migration management, trying to find answers to the main question of the study: How does migration affect the local society in Bulgaria at this point of time? The report analyses both out-migration and in-migration trends, but in the Bulgarian case what seems clear is that out-migration exceeds in-migration, thus emigration rather than immigration has bigger impact on the Bulgarian society. The public discourse is dominated by concerns about brain-drain, the economic benefits from Bulgarian migrants working abroad temporarily, the possibilities for exporting skilled labour legally, and the harm inflicted The report is based on secondary analysis of relevant literature (Appendix 1); normative documents, regulating migration; statistical and border police data about migration (Appendix 2); sociological surveys on potential migration and on the economic impact of migration; interviews with representatives of state institutions and NGOs dealing with migration, as well as with immigrants and emigrants (Appendix 3). by returned asylum-seekers on Bulgaria's image. Immigrants are not particularly visible yet, and concerns about their number, protection of their rights, xenophobia or their integration come rarely to the fore. That is why, in searching for the social impact of migration on the Bulgarian society, the Bulgarian team will pay more attention to out-migration than to in-migration. [Urheber s. Copyright]

Title: Structures of Education, Vocational Training and Adult Education Systems in Europe : Bulgaria ; 2003
Abstract
Structures of education, vocational training and adult education systems in Europe For anyone trying to understand the general organisation of education systems in Europe, these monographs set out in some 40 pages for each country, full basic and regularly updated information on its own particular system. Devised in accordance with a common framework, they provide conveniently for inter-country comparison. The monographs describe the various levels of education from pre-primary to higher education, and initial vocational training whether provided exclusively in a school or other educational institution, or in the form of alternated work and training. Each level of education has its own concise description concerned primarily with its admissions procedures, duration, curriculum, methods of assessment and teacher training. These monographs have been produced by EURYDICE in close collaboration with the members of the CEDEFOP REFER Network and the national observatories of the European Training Foundation. [Urheber s. Abstract
The Treaty of Accession consists of several parts. The overarching document is the short Treaty concerning the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union. Attached to the Treaty is the Act of Accession and its Annexes. This act enters into force only in the event that the Constitution is not in force on the date of accession. Its contents are the same, in substance, as those of the Accession Protocol. Once the Constitution enters into force the Accession Protocol will replace the Act of Accession. [Urheber s. Copyright]

Title: Bulgaria : Programmes covered: National and Cross Border Co-operation Programmes 1999-2001 with a brief review of
Post-2001 allocations ; Phare Ex post Evaluation. Phase 2, National Programmes: Bulgaria
Abstract
The purpose of this ex post evaluation is to assess the contribution of the 1999-2001 Phare national and cross-border co-operation (CBC) programmes to supporting Bulgaria in meeting the Copenhagen criteria so as to facilitate its accession to the European Union. This is an indepth evaluation which also includes an analysis of post-2001 allocations. This report has been prepared between December 2005 and June 2006,1 and reflects the situation where the Phare national Programmes in the 1999-2001 period have substantially ended. The evaluation is based on an analysis of documents provided at the start, during and on completion of the national Programmes, including previous interim evaluations, on the results of questionnaires, and on interviews with beneficiaries, contractors, and stakeholders. It examines the performance of the programmes in addressing the objectives stated in the formal programming documents, provides a general assessment of the programmes and draws conclusions and lessons learnt from them. The evaluation of Bulgarian national and CBC programmes is one of a series of ten evaluations in the new member states. The evaluations of the eight new member states in 2004 will feed into a consolidated evaluation of Phare national and CBC programmes, which, together with the in-depth evaluations of Romania and Bulgaria, will form part of a consolidated ex post evaluation of the Phare programme.[Author vide copyright]
