Title: Economic benefits of long-distance mobility
Abstract
In this report, the effects of two different kinds of long-distance mobility have been analysed: mobility across regions, which occurs within national boundaries, and mobility across countries, which occurs beyond national borders and can be further distinguished as mobility within and outside the EU. Aside from the methodological caveats that need to be made relative to the actual extent of movement, long-distance mobility is generally considered to be an indicator of economic performance and a crucial factor in enhancing overall human capital. From a socio-political point of view, mobility across countries is one of the cornerstones of European integration, and the European Commission itself has often underlined the importance of mobility across European countries in enhancing European social cohesion. Title: Factors determining international and regional migration intentions in Europe
Abstract
This research report focuses on migration intentions of Europeans and investigates the main determinants of these intentions. The main advantage of studying mobility intentions - rather than studying migrants in their destination country - is that this approach is not biased by selectivity issues. There is indeed a large body of literature showing that migrants self-select in labour markets where their return-to-skills is expected to be larger. Moreover, literature suggests that it is not simply mobility that is of interest in socioeconomic models, but the potential for mobility. [Author vide Copyright]

Abstract
[Urheber s. It also seeks to put into perspective the particular situations in the Member States regarding the existence, availability or lack of definitions, data and information with a view to developing strategies to improve comparability on the EU-level. Title: Health Services in the EEA
Abstract
Health policy has traditionally been an area governed principally by the law of individual member states. There is a general consensus among the member states and also the European Union (EU) institutions that this should not fundamentally change in the future. Despite a general acceptance of that principle, member states had also to realise that establishing an internal market - i.e. freeing the movement of goods, persons and services - requires at least to some extent a common approach - be it through the coordination of national policies or, in specific cases, even through harmonisation. Healthcare is no exception. [Professor Dr. Dominik Hanf]

Title: Challenges for a European Market for Electric Vehicles
Abstract
The introduction of the electric vehicle to European industry is seen important for many reasons. It will bring new market opportunities and new jobs. At the same time it would provide better energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The development of electric vehicle industry requires considerable RTD investments, support for the creation of new markets and new business models but also changes in the mobility behaviour of both individual people and the society as a whole. Title: Darstellung der Übergänge von Jugendlichen in Europa : Zusammenfassung
Title (other): Mapping youth transitions in Europe : executive summary | Suivi des transitions des jeunes en Europe : synthèse
Abstract

Title: Mapping youth transitions in Europe
Abstract
Young people in Europe continue to experience great difficulties in entering the labour market. Although the youth unemployment rate in a few Member States has started to fall, overall 23% of young European job-seekers aged 15–24 could not find a job in January 2014. In 2012, 14.6 million young people across Europe were not in employment, education or training (NEETs), accounting for 15.9% of the entire population of those aged 15–29. This report analyses the labour market situation of young people in Europe, focusing in particular on their school-to-work transition, while also monitoring their more general transition to adulthood. The report also investigates the ability of young people to remain in employment against the odds during the crisis and charts their transitions from temporary to permanent contracts. The report concludes with a discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of selected policy measures.[Author vide Copyright]

Title: Intra-EU Mobility of third-country nationals
Title (other): European Migration Network Study 2013
Abstract
The purpose of this EMN Focussed Study 2012 was to act as a scoping exercise to better understand the key issues and challenges in relation to the intra-EU mobility of third-country nationals in the different Member States....The study aimed, firstly, to provide an overview of current mobility provisions within the EU acquis to encourage the intra-EU mobility of third-country nationals and to explore also the national rules in place that regulate such movements. Secondly, it aimed to identify the key issues on intra-EU mobility for third-country nationals as perceived by the different Member States, in particular the challenges/barriers which may be affecting such mobility for reasons of work. Finally, the study aimed to ‘map’ the extent to which statistics are available on the scale and scope of intra-EU mobility of third-country nationals in order to characterise, to the extent possible, the current trends and patterns of mobility, for example, who is moving where and from which Member States, their reasons for mobility, their nationality and skills levels. The focus of the study is on periods of stay in the second Member State exceeding three months. Irregular movements of third-country nationals between Member States were not included in the study.[Author vide copyright]
