Title: 2014 Annual Activity Report : Directorate-General Home
Abstract
This report gives an overview of the activities undertaken by the European Commission's Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) in 2014. We report on the main policy challenges faced in 2014, the responses developed by DG HOME to those challenges and the resources used.In 2014, DG HOME designed EU policies to manage the increasing migratory pressures at EU ?s external borders and to respond effectively to threats to EU ?s internal security. Further to adoption of the new Multiannual Financial Framework for 2014-2020, DG HOME engaged actively in programming two EU funds in the area of migration and home affairs – the Internal Security Fund (ISF) and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) – that total 6.9 billioneuros. In parallel, DG HOME was and will be implementing EU funds from 2007-2013.Our Annual Activity Report assesses the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes in place as well as the effectiveness of the internal control system in its entirety. The systems in place enabled me to sign the Annual Declaration of Assurance without reservations.[Author vide copyright]

Title: 2017 Annual review : Migration and Asylum in the Netherlands
Abstract
The 2017 Annual Review provides an insight into the most important developments in the migration and asylum policy of the Netherlands in 2017. Topics addressed in this review are legal migration, international protection (asylum), unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable groups, civic integration, irregular migration, return, measures addressing trafficking in human beings, and migration and development. The Annual Review has been compiled by the Research & Analysis Department and is largely based on desk research. Experts have provided input for the different themes. In 2017, relatively few major policy changes were made as a result of the elections on 25 March 2017 and the subsequent lengthy government formation. This resulted in there being a care-taker government for a large part of the year (March-October).[Author vide copyright]

Abstract
[Urheber s. It also seeks to put into perspective the particular situations in the Member States regarding the existence, availability or lack of definitions, data and information with a view to developing strategies to improve comparability on the EU-level. Title: Abused Domestic Workers in Europe : The Case of Au Pairs
Abstract
This study analyses au pair arrangements in six EU Member States (Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain) through descriptions of national and international legal frameworks and practices of au pairing. The findings show different patterns of au pair migration and different situations of au pairing as well as different strategies to protect the au pairs. The overall recommendation is to separate current au pair immigration into two programmes: one of cultural exchange and one of domestic and care work. [European Parliament]

Title: Assessing the economic implications of Turkish accession to the EU
Abstract
The paper explores the economic implications of the possible Turkish accession to the European Union. It focuses on three main changes associated with Turkish membership: (i) accession to the internal European Market; (ii) institutional reforms in Turkey triggered by EU membership; and (iii) migration in response to the free movement of workers. Overall, the macroeconomic implications for EU countries are small but positive. This is caused by cheaper imports and the benefits from trade creation. Turkey experiences larger economic gains than the EU: consumption per capita is estimated to rise by about 4% as a result of accession to the internal market and free movement of labour. If Turkey would succeed in reforming its domestic institutions in response to EU membership, economic growth in Turkey could increase more. In particular, tentative estimates suggest that consumption per capita in Turkey could rise by an additional 9%. These benefits would spill over to the EU. For instance, Dutch exports to Turkey would rise by another 1.8 billion euro and income by 500 million euro. [Author vide copyright]
